You could say Alaska is the birthplace of Third Assist. Our founders were born in the state's largest city (Anchorage) and the connections to the state continue to run strong to this day. For that reason, we knew it was too easy to go simply for the Alaska state flag. You can already find gold and navy big dippers in many hockey circles. Therefore we chose another route for inspiration: The Alaska license plate.
The original bear design was found on the 1976 Alaska Bicentennial plates and residents loved it so much the design was brought back in 2015 using the colors represented in this sweater concept. While the bear and big dipper have been slightly modified stylistically from the original design, the iconic symbols will continue to represent The Last Frontier for years to come.
Discounted price note: This is our smallest batch of sweaters to date we made as gifts for local Alaskan supporters. We're still tweaking some elements for larger production (stitching, embroidery, etc.), but we wanted to offer the remaining small batch to fans of the design for a discounted price. Current photos are representative of final product for this small batch.
