State Sweater: 1908 Massachusetts Flag Reverse
This state sweater design is the 1908-1971 Massachusetts Flag reverse. This concept was chosen as the winning design for Massachusetts.
The story: Massachusetts was one of the only states in the union with a reverse on their flag (depicted here). During this time, flags were still hand-painted, but towards the end of its reign having a flag reverse was too expensive for mass production. The blue shield features a pine tree which was a symbol for the region, especially after the Pine Tree Riot of 1772 where the tree symbolized resistance and independence.
Thick embroidered hoodie with hood and hockey lace tie-up. Massachusetts is highlighted with two patches on the shoulders, in addition to the historic flag concept.
