Third Assist's Take: We thought we knew of all the pond hockey tournaments in our founding state (Maine), but when this one came on our radar last year we were surprised by what we were missing. Located in northern Maine, just five minutes from the Canadian border, you can find a truly local hockey tournament. This tournament has been taking place for the past three years and it's built around the hockey community- both adult and youth. Proceeds from the tournament go towards building up more youth hockey in the area and keeping the tradition going. And considering this tournament takes place in mid-March every year, there's clearly a long winter to keep the kids busy playing hockey outdoors. Although it's a local tournament, newcomers are welcome so check out their website below to add this tournament to the end of your pond hockey roadtrip next season.

Find out more info on their website Acadian Pond Hockey.
